Provident Salierno Family Foundation Music Scholarship

Award Amount: $1000

This scholarship is for students interested in a music career who maintains a 2.8 or greater grade point average. The scholarship currently provides about $1000 per year for the student at the five high schools listed in the purpose.

The Visalia Rotary Community Foundation announces the Robert Harrell Career and Technical Education Scholarship. This scholarship currently gives approximately 30 scholarships at $1,000 each for various vocational technical programs. The scholarship is for a student who is from Visalia (or lives in Tulare County and is attending a vocational program in Visalia) and is pursuing a vocational technical school in an accredited institution. There are four application periods each year for the Robert Harrell Career and Technical Education Scholarship. Please refer to the scholarship for the dates.

We pride ourselves on having the most in depth information available to California students, as it pertains to scholarship programs and scholarship application deadlines across the state.

College Board Opportunity Scholarship - 9th grade - 12th grade

The College Board Opportunity Scholarships program is open beginning with the class of 2020 high school students. There is no citizenship requirement.  Class of 2021 students are eligible next year. This program is open to students regardless of family income.

The more effort you put in, the more chances you get to earn a scholarship ranging from $500 to $2000. If you complete all six steps, you’re eligible to earn a $40,000 scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded through random monthly drawings– to students who complete each step.

  1. BUILD YOUR COLLEGE LIST: $500
    Get started by exploring colleges you’re interested in.
  2. PRACTICE FOR THE SAT: $1000
    Use Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy to get ready for test day.
  3. IMPROVE YOUR SCORE: $2000
    Show how practice pays off by improving your SAT score.
  4. STRENGTHEN YOUR COLLEGE LIST: $500
    Make sure your college list has a mix of academic safety, fit, and reach schools.
  5. COMPLETE THE FAFSA: $1000
    Fill out the free government form to apply for financial aid.
  6. APPLY TO COLLEGES: $1000
    Apply to the schools you want to attend.

FIDM

FIDM awards over $300,000 in scholarships through a national scholarship competition. This scholarship is for students interested in the global industries of Fashion, Visual Arts, Graphics, Interior Design, and Entertainment.  Seven first-place winners who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, or Product Development will each be awarded a full, one-year scholarship to attend FIDM, which includes tuition, fees, books, and most supplies. In addition, the top three finalists in each category will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship. For more information about this and additional FIDM scholarship programs visit: 

 

Army National Guard - Minuteman Scholarship

AWARD AMOUNT: $10,000 per yr room & board + additional stipends

The Minuteman Scholarship is a Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) guaranteed reserve forces duty scholarship that was introduced in 2015 to enhance Army National Guard's ability to recruite highly qualified cadets every year.  All qualified applicants for ROTC may apply for consideration for a Minuteman Scholarship. The Minuteman Scholarship covers full tuition and fees or $10,000 per year toward room and board at any college or university served by an Army ROTC program.  Scholarship recipients also receive a yearly book allowance of $1,200 and a monthly stipend of $420 while attending school enrolled in the ROTC program.

Requirements:

• Currently in the National Guard or eligible for enlistment

• Be a U.S. citizen

• Ability to pass Army Physical Fitness Test

• 2.5 GPA

• Enrollment in ROTC

• Once commissioned - 8 year service obligation

Naval Reserve/Marine Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship

The Naval Reserve/Marine Officers Training Corps (NROTC) has announced it’s 2019-20 scholarship. Selected applicants will receive full tuition and other benefits worth up to $180,000. NROTC units are located at over 160 of the nation’s leading colleges and universities. In order to be eligible you must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 17 years old, but no older than 23, be physically qualified by USMC standards, complete high school, take the ACT or SAT test prior to the deadline and receive listed minimum scores.
